AP Biology
This is an exact copy of the email that was sent out to all AP Biology tutors on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
Both orientation sessions mentioned below have already occurred. If you have any questions and/or signed up after October 18, please contact the FRAP email (stuy.fraptutoring@gmail.com).
Hi all,
First off, we extend a warm welcome to FRAP Tutoring! We're really excited that there's so many people who are willing to help our freshmen out, especially as there's quite a lot of demand for tutoring services this year.
Here's what you need to know:
Who We Are
Our names are Daphne Qin (senior), Judy Chen (senior), and Hellen Luo (junior)! Together we make up the FRAP Admin Team, and we all work together behind the scenes to run FRAP! You can find our bios on our website.
Fun fact: we'll be celebrating FRAP's third birthday shortly after the end of this school year!
Orientation Sessions
We will be hosting two 20 minute mandatory orientation sessions! These will give a visual representation into how our program runs and what you'll need to know for the year. It'll also give you a fun opportunity to talk to other tutors who are also in the program!
Our first session will be on Sunday, October 16 at 7:00 PM, and our second will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at 7:00 PM. You will only need to attend one of them, since we will be covering the same content during both! Please let us know ASAP if you are unable to attend either.
Here's the information for both sessions:

How the Program Runs
For those who have tutored with us before, our program runs exactly the same way it did last year. For everyone else, please read carefully!
First off, we have the pairing process. To see how that works, please read this document carefully! There's a few links distributed throughout that document, but most of those documents are listed in the Tutor folder.
Speaking of which, here's the folder! That contains:
• the pairing spreadsheet,
• useful links to help you prepare for sessions (and for your tutees to study on their own time),
• the detailed explanation of the pairing process,
• email templates to aid with reaching out to your tutees,
• a full tutor list, which you can use in case you need a substitute (please avoid this as much as possible, though),
• and the Principles of Life textbook!
If there's anything else you think we should add to the folder, please let us know!
Throughout the year, we'll also host group review sessions, where 4 to 5 of you guys will be collaborating on a presentation to the freshmen! These big sessions will occur right before their major exams. We'll be sharing more information after we schedule the first session.
Closing Remarks
Here's a more organized list of all the links we've mentioned throughout the email! We highly recommend that you bookmark these links, as you will be using them throughout your time as a tutor!.

We would like to note that, within all facets of FRAP tutoring, we will not tolerate any misuse of the program's platform or material, as well as disrespectful behavior, hate speech of any kind, or bullying, whether it be directed to a tutee, student, administration, or another person or group. If you see any such inappropriate behavior from anyone within this program, please let us know immediately.
And lastly, thank you all for your memes! Some of these responses were golden (and reminded us of our own AP Bio memories), and they all gave us a good chuckle.
Kind regards,
The FRAP Admin Team
